There's pull-up menu: while playing music, pull up control buttons area. There will be "Repeat all" and "Shuffle" options. And "+" button that probably allows to add currently playing songs to playlist...

Thanks for the hint. That would make (1.) kind of obsolete. I still would appreciate it quite a bit if the players developers took (2.) and (3.) into account.
